Abstract

 

The world has experienced three decades of growth in mobile communication technology, whereas a decade ago there were no mobile services available in Afghanistan. After 2002, Afghanistan has experienced a fast growth in Communication technologies and services. It means demand for mobile communication services increased. Taking the factor affecting the demand for mobile communication, this research was planned to assess the demand for mobile communication services in Kabul city. Following the demand and consumption theory and model, and using regression analysis, the research has found that on the access side of the demand or subscribing to the mobile communications, factors such as education, income, word of mouth, imposed limitation, and product-information availability are the main determinants and statistically significant.
