Topic: Economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in Afghanistan

Deadline: 30.04.2021

Background:

The rapid spread of COVID-19 pandemic combined with country-specific response measures to contain the virus constitute a big challenge for the economic activities of societies worldwide. It is assumed that the different kind of economic measures taken at the country level and the uncertainty related to the crisis lead to heavy economic cost at the macroeconomic and microeconomic level. Governments react using fiscal and monetary policies, international trade is restricted due to closed boarders, supply chains are interrupted, businesses are affected, economic activities are slowed down leading to less employment, income and consumption.

 

Research Objective:

Due to the importance of the topic, the AES is calling for scientific case studies to get empirical insight into the economic impact of Covid-19 in Afghanistan.

Any kind of topics on the Macro or Micro level to show this imapct are eligible!

The research should include the collection of primary data and an analysis of the data to answer the specific research questions of the submitted proposal.

 

Research Proposal:

The proposal should be developed according to the proposal guidelines (Click here) and include additionally a

  • - short introduction of the researcher
  • - timeline of the research (6 to max. 18 weeks)
  • - budget estimation (according to the budget template: Click here).

 

Eligibility Criteria:

Only Afghan Researchers who are member of the AES, who are currently staying in Afghanistan and work at a university in Afghanistan are eligible to submit proposals!

 

Furthermore, academic English is expected!

The project needs to start in May/June and end latest in October. (the max. funding peridode is 4,5 months).

WE ONLY ACCEPT COMPLETE PROPOSALS. ALSO MAKE SURE THAT THE TOPIC AND TIMEFRAME IS INTERESTING AND REALISTIC!

WE USE PLAGIARISM SOFTWARE AND CHECK ALL PROPOSALS. IN CASE WE RECOGNIZE ANY FORM OF PLAGIARISM, THE PROPOSAL IS AUTOMATICALLY EXCLUDED FROM SELECTION!
